Portrait Of Place Orkney at London Design Festival

Following the wonderful Orkney residency organised by The New Craftsman in May this year, we launched our straw collaboration with traditional Orkney furniture maker Kevin Gauld.

This was a very special project for the studio, giving new life to traditional and iconic pieces of furniture that are intrinsically linked to a place, a person and a process. Working with Kevin, who was born and bred on the remote islands, fostered an incredible collaborator process and resulted in designs that respond to their local surroundings and slow way of life.
