Willow Chair
The traditional materials of the English country crafts have continually inspired my practice due to their intrinsically beautiful qualities but also their environmental credentials. Willows tacit qualities are hard to resist and have rarely been used within furniture practice, historically being contained within the vernacular of basketry. ‘Willow’ builds on the collaborative notion behind the success of the Brodgar and Hamylin chairs with the incredible skills of Annemarie O’Sullivan. Annemarie has helped re-appropriate this beautiful craft for a contemporary audience.
